Love love love this machine! The Lavazza Classy Mini is a hidden gem. I can't see why it doesn't appear on every "Best Espresso Maker" list on the internet. Mine has been running for almost 8 months now and I cannot recommend it highly enough. In fact, I love it so much I bought it for my sister for Christmas. It's incredibly easy to use and consistently delivers great espresso shots. In addition, the price is quite affordable for both the machine itself and the capsules. And there's a decent range of Lavazza espresso pods, from smooth and balanced to light and dark. Most varieties come in two versions, Standard and Double, which contain more coffee to make larger servings. My personal favorite is Cafe Crema, it's so soft and fragrant. Speaking of "cream" (that silky foam on top), this little machine produces a nice thick layer that rivals anything I've tried in a coffee shop. All in all this is a great car. However, there are several disadvantages. For example, after filling the water tank, it can be a bit uncomfortable and difficult to hold when reinserting (especially with wet fingers). And the lid tends to pop off during this process. The ideal portion size must also be programmed with a fresh espresso capsule in the machine. Because it seems like it only records the total time it takes to brew a cup, and it takes longer for the water to get through the dry coffee grounds than if it were already wet or there were no pods on the macha at all. So if you reuse the pod or don't put it in before programming, you'll end up with a smaller cup than you'd like when you actually use it. And one last minor complaint, there's no sensor to tell you when the used pod bin is full, instead the machine just alerts you every 5 brew cycles to empty the bin, but if there's a power outage it loses that Count and you might end up with an overflowing bin clogged with too many capsules. One last thing, the pods only seem to come in packs of 100, which is plenty if you just want to try one different strain. I think a small sample pack of 2 to 4 samples of each variety would be good to help customers discover their favourites. ADVANTAGES: Fast and easy operation Heats up in about 20 seconds and is ready to brew Uses the recommended pressure of 9 bar for optimal extraction Affordable price. A high quality product from one of the leading Italian espresso brands. Beautiful classic Italian design. CONS: Inconvenient water tank. There is no sensor on the trash can. seconds after the brewing process is complete. Overall I recommend buying this machine if you love a good cup of espresso. You will not be disappointed.
