It's not slippery. It's soft enough for comfort. The handle is not removable. The finger rests are flat and recessed. In my hand it is light and balanced. The hook angle is ergonomically positioned with a handle for smooth crocheting. The hook itself is smooth and slightly pointed on the outside surface and curved on the inside surface. I prefer this brand to other hooks with rounded handles. I also use this brand for very large hooks like N and P because they don't slip in my hand.
