Organic and without additives!

The first thing most people want to know about protein powder is: Does it taste good? Second question: what texture? Does it mix well? Here's my take on those things: I've tried several organic, easy, vegan rice protein powders. None of them are particularly tasty, but on the flip side, they're all tastier than unflavored pea protein powder. And all pea protein powders taste better than hemp protein powders, which I just can't stand. Essentially, when you buy a vegan protein powder, the only thing that matters is how sensitive you actually are to a bad-tasting protein powder. You either learn to ignore the taste or you learn to mask it well. My husband takes the first batch and mine the second. The texture of this particular product is a bit grainy but blends well. It's grainy because it doesn't contain any fillers. If you get rice protein powder with a smooth, fine, powdery texture, you can bet it's the additives (more on that below). Unlike my husband, I never drink my rice protein powder in plain water, so I can't directly comment on the texture and taste. In his opinion, it mixes well with a fork or small whisk in a glass of water. He also told me that the taste was acceptable to him and no better or worse than any other brand he had tried. The only minor complaint is the slightly grainy texture. I add this protein powder to my morning green smoothie which, in addition to protein powder and plain cold infused herbal tea, contains the following organic ingredients: spinach, carrot, strawberry, blueberry, banana, protein powder and various herbs and supplements with stevia powder as a sweetener. As you can imagine, so many different fruits and vegetables perfectly mask the taste of vegan protein powder. In fact, if the protein powder tastes so awful in this situation (which I think pea protein and hemp protein are) that I can taste bad compared to all the other ingredients in the smoothie, then that's a loss to me and I won't buy it it again. This protein powder easily passes this test as I can't taste it at all. For me personally, the biggest advantage of this product is that not only is it organic, but it also contains no additives. No one. If you need flavor, you can add your own flavor and control exactly what goes into your stomach. Protein powder for you, including this one. Again, if grainy texture is an issue for you, don't look for a rice protein powder like this that contains nothing but rice protein. In order to get a smooth, non-grainy texture, the manufacturer needs to add fillers. Regarding the non-grainy texture issue in particular, below is a cross comparison of this product to another rice protein powder that I used a lot before finding this one. :Zen Principle: 30g serving 26g protein 87% protein Jarrow Formulas Brown Rice Protein Concentrate Vanilla Flavor : Serving: 17g Protein: 12g Protein 71% What's the difference in this meaningful percentage? The Jarrow brand has multiple fillers, while Zen, as noted above, does not. These Jarrow fillers include: Organic Gum Arabic, Organic Guar Gum, and Xanthan Gum. These three fillers aren't particularly bad for you, but they're not the protein you pay for when you buy your protein powder. They also don't improve the taste, although they are so tasteless that they don't make it worse. What they really want is to give it a smooth texture. Since I don't care about smooth textures, I'll stick with this product from now on.
