Great, simple suitcase with small but well thought-out features.

This case sits on top of a massive 38.5 x 28.8 x 4.5 cm (15.16 x 11.34 x 1.77 inch) 15 inch MacBook and might be unnecessarily too much for some. You're paying big bucks and bulk for great padding and build quality. For me, this bag offers the best of both worlds: slim enough to pack in a backpack and travel, but durable enough to take with you on the go. It fits comfortably in my 2015 15" MacBook Pro. The case is roomy enough to fit my laptop's hard case in the side pocket as well as a couple of connected USB Bluetooth transmitters and a charger and mouse. The 15" laptop itself is still well protected inside. The interior is very soft and well padded, providing enough structure to use the bag as a makeshift clipboard to jot down notes on a single sheet of paper. The outer tarpaulin has average waterproofing for tech gear It is splash proof and drains small amounts of water. Just don't wait for the liquid to absorb. The handle is very easy to remove and fits snugly on the case. When expanded, the ends of the handle are still about 1 inch tucked into the fabric of the body. There is no elastic here, just a simple gripping mechanism. I had so much confidence in its durability that I bought it casually used regularly for 8 months. The safety strap along with the thick walls keep my laptop from falling out even if I accidentally shake it up and zip it up. The durable zippers work smoothly and have never caught in all my days. The only minor criticism is the side pocket. For a premium big boy suitcase, it has a rather drab side pocket lined with the standard backpack interior. I wish there were smaller pockets inside or at least some organization. It's not even wide enough for 8.5" x 11" paper. However, it should be noted that Tomtoc offers another bag as well as a shoulder bag with more durable (albeit thicker) pockets. The little is good: Despite docking with a star due to its average weather resistance and comparatively large travel size, in my experience this suitcase definitely stands out from all the others.

Pros
  • Great value for money
Cons
  • Big and chunky
