Review on ๐Ÿšฒ Black LifeProof iPhone 5/5s Bike Mount - Enhanced SEO by Andy Thorson

Bad bracket design that vibrates!

This product will not withstand vibration from high pressure tires or racing bikes. Mine broke after 3 months. I rode a few small bumps in the road and it just fell apart. It won't snap back into place as a couple of the latches broke off when it popped off. The system they use to attach the main frame to the type of mount you use is more than adequate for a belt clip, but woefully inadequate for a road bike mount or anything that vibrates. I only gave it a 3 because for my purposes I was able to glue the main frame, button and rear frame together with gorilla glue to make them one. This removed the ability to rotate the phone on the mount without first loosening the knurled nut, but I don't have to rotate it so it works for me now and is a big improvement over the design. I have to wonder if the people who developed it did any testing to see if it worked as intended! 10/29/14 This mount broke again! This time it was the main mount that actually holds the iPhone. It broke on the part that runs along the long axis of the phone. I saved it again with Gorilla Glue, first gluing relatively thin areas at the break. After everything was ready, I filled all the hexagonal cutouts with glue and glued the reinforcement bead to the back. It's functional again, but it looks like hell! I've lowered my rating to a 2 and it might go even lower if it breaks again! Someone at Lifeproof needs to do functional testing before releasing inferior products to unsuspecting consumers.
