This would be the most ingenious toy storage solution if the manufacturer just added a buckle or zip to secure the lid to the bucket. However, due to the design, the lid is simply on top. By the looks of it, the bucket can only be half full to make room for the playmat and keep the lid in place. Otherwise there is not enough space for a play mat; and He sticks out/lifts the lid till it falls. I don't understand how such a simple solution was overlooked or ignored by the manufacturer. I had a strap/plastic buckle (the kind used on compression bags) on hand that does the trick. Now I can fill the bucket more than 3/4 full, crumple/compress the playmat and attach the lid.
