I use them like scissors. I'm sick of these fis**rs plastic grips breaking after less than a year of use, it's just not tough enough for me. The handle is designed for both left and right hand, so it might be a bit uncomfortable after using it for 10 years. minutes or more. But that's okay since they're so durable. One caveat: the tip is very sharp, pointed! They came with a plastic holder but they were already finished when I opened the box.
