This charge controller works much better than my old one. I have 3 panels in my RV but the solar never kept my batteries alive. We spent a lot of time in the camper and the batteries were always charged so it should work. I used to have problems with my old charge controller where my batteries would burn out during storage due to being charged by both. Panels and connected power supply. I installed a disconnect plug on one of the solar cables so I can turn off the solar array during long term storage. I don't know if this will be necessary for this new charger but it might be a good idea to avoid potential battery damage as I've experienced. UPDATE: After a few more months in the camper, still works great. The weather was warm from the fan so we didn't run the alternator and many nights we had 2 fans running all night and the batteries didn't run out as quickly as they used to. This thing should work better than my old one. Very happy with such a cheap controller.
