I used these weights to balance the bottom wheel on an old band saw. I bought a used band saw and it was vibrating badly. I confirmed that the bottom wheel was the source of vibration by running the bandsaw without the saw blade (the bottom wheel is powered by the motor and removing the saw blade means only the bottom wheel spins). The top wheel still has the factory counterweight, but the bottom wheel is missing the weight. The original weights are made of lead and are riveted through a hole in the wheel. I simply added weights to the wheel next to the hole, as that's where the original weight should have been, and ran the bandsaw without the blade, adding weights one at a time until the vibration stopped. I tried some old sticky weights I had but they didn't hold up very well because the wheels are cast iron and dingy. I chose clip-on weights because the wheels have a lip in the rim to attach them to. I had to bend the clips because the rim is thicker than a car rim. They worked great.
