Not 18 watts, but still not bad.

This product has its advantages and disadvantages. Pros: Seems to be very well made. The construction is very solid, the assembly and workmanship are good. They're pretty nimble, certainly very profitable, and it would be difficult for me to get more or the same result for less money. I don't have a light meter handy, so I can't measure actual light output. After an hour of operation, it still wasn't too hot to touch. The bad: The only flaw in the design is the seal where the cord comes out at the back. The plastic bushing was broken when it came out so I could see water got in there. There's nothing a little silicone can't fix in an instant. As for the power of the light, I understood from the description that it is an 18 watt light. However, this is not the case, although the LEDs themselves may well be rated at 18 watts (3 watts per LED). By measuring the input current to the light at 12V, the light draws 1A. So the light output is 12V * 1A = 12W, which is 33% less than I expected. If you increase the input voltage above 12V, it has a power step-down converter, meaning you get the same power for anything above 12V (but the input current drops proportionally to keep the power roughly constant). So there is no way I can see this at 18W which looks like false advertising. I have found this to be the case with other LED lights similar to the ones I have purchased. Overall: I would buy this product again to probably use for car/motorcycle/RV lighting. It appears to be of good quality and incredibly cheap.
