Works great with stitches and holds up well. Note that if you buy an AC adapter, you will need to cut off the plug at the end to use it. I didn't think it had a good review so I bought it because what came with the kit I bought had a pathetic transformer that came with it which was rubbish. It wasn't difficult to cut the connector, bend it a bit and connect it. Pay attention to the colors on the wires, you will connect the wrong color in the wrong place and burn the transformer. My wife loves it, it's a different color every time I see it.
