Review on Grease Monkey Nitrile Mechanics Purpose by Tommy Hilmy

Not the best but worth the price.

I usually carry many pairs of gloves. No matter what the task, it is usually carried out with gloves. Gardening, maintenance, repairs, landscaping, woodpiling, etc. are all done with gloves on, and some tasks are more difficult with gloves on than others. However, if you have 15 pairs of these Grease Monkey gloves and recently ordered 15 more pairs, while the Grease Monkey gloves are not the best gloves money can buy, the Grease Monkey gloves are $10. These GM gloves are well suited for light to medium requirements. For gardening, lawn mowing, general maintenance or repairs, carpentry and more, these gloves will work just as well as most other pairs. When it comes to heavy use, splitting wood, moving and manipulating wood, doing heavy use like shoveling, or tasks that leave blisters, these gloves seem to wear out quite a bit. However, due to these types of projects, plus sweat, dirt, etc., you generally don't wear the same pair more than 2 times during or after these types of uses, so really nothing is lost. If you need to keep wearing gloves no matter what you're doing, or never want to change gloves, then these may not be the gloves for you. However, for general use and everyday tasks, these GM gloves seem quite suitable. They seem to last as long as faux leather work gloves, which are always frayed at the fingertips or split at the knuckles or between the fingers. Like I said, they're not the best. Although they cost less than $1 a pair, they're worth the price.

Pros
  • Protects hands and provides a tactile grip when working with oil and grease - ideal for changing oil, tyres, fluids and spark plugs
Cons
  • Big and bulky
