I use them for Ashley's piercing. I prefer plastic and this is the best I've found. They are very shiny and the glitter doesn't seem to fade as quickly as some others I've bought. I will keep buying more. Update: My initial review above was five stars for a June 2016 purchase. I repurchased it in June 2017 and am very disappointed with the difference in quality. The gems are now too small for the holes and it looks like there is a black ring around the gems. I have used acrylic stands which are great but I will not be using the gem part and will not be repurchasing them. It's a real shame because there were a lot of them and I still can't find any that are as good quality as when I first bought them.
