If you don't mind the wires being exposed and the tailgate being left closed on the wires at all times, this works great and is easy to install. I had to modify my car because the wire wasn't long enough to go through the tail light which would hide the wire. So I ran under the plastic shroud from the connector on the right hand side and cut out the metal here, the hull of the body meets the metal bumper under the rubber o-ring. Had to use an angle grinder to cut the groove and smooth it out. I also wrapped the wire in electrical tape where it passed and additionally smeared sanitary glue. They then routed the wire and connector under the seal straight down to the hitch and into the metal bumper, which had to be straightened with a crowbar to make room for the connector. Clean work and no wires to worry about, but it was tedious and took hours to figure out and execute the best plan. You can use this method and connect the cable so it doesn't hit the bumper, but I wanted to keep the wiring structure so there would be no problems in the future. The rest works as it should.
