So far so good, for the price this little unit is hard to beat. Batteries do not need to be charged, the range is excellent even with the supplied antenna. I switched to an MXTA11 antenna found on another site and was able to communicate with the MXT105 in my truck through the MXT105 I had installed in my wife's 4Runner 4.1 miles away before losing signal. This is not line of sight, there are a lot of trees on the way. These units are very reliable for caravans, simplex communications (if you need repeaters check out the MXT400).
