I used it to replace the 512 DDR in the second slot on the motherboard. Now my 6 year old computer has a maximum of 2GB of RAM. I should have done this many years ago, but kept putting it off. Since these DDRs are now three times cheaper than they used to be, it made sense to upgrade them. The change took literally 2 minutes. Don't forget to turn off your computer and ground yourself to the chassis. My machine had no problems with the new memory. This DDR works great. It may not seem like a huge difference, but a 33% increase in RAM can make your old computer that much faster. If I can get another year or two of these antiques, I'll be happy. I love the XP operating system and don't want to give it up just yet.
