This cake stand is made of very good and durable material. The lid doesn't snap into place, but it's firmly attached to the base. However, please note that the size given in the description is 'handle to handle'. The inside length is 10" and the width is 5 1/4". This is still suitable for quick loaves that you bake as most baking pans are 8x4 or 9x5 etc. It will NOT fit a longer baking pan and will NOT fit a "regular" loaf if that is what you need. Looking for. It's still very well made and it's your 'usage' that will determine if this product will serve your needs. I am still happy with this product as I need it for the quick bread I bake and NOT the longer loaves or store bought loaves.
