Review on πŸ”€ Melissa & Doug Alphabet Sound Puzzle: Enhance Vocabulary Skills by James Thakur

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great learning tool

I have read the reviews on this product carefully. My 3 year old daughter was working on a similar puzzle (no sound) in the library and loved it and asked to have it on her Christmas list. Santa brought it to her and I wanted people to know that despite some negative reviews I think it's a good learning tool for a young preschooler. One of the things people talked about was how annoying the puzzle was when not in use and when someone scanned it the voice came out. I have ours on a shelf with all the letters and there have been no problems. That's because I have all the letters in place, so each sensor is closed. After my daughter puts the puzzle together I make sure she puts it away so her one year old doesn't lose it. Problem solved. In addition, another complaint was that any letter the child tries to put anywhere cuts off the voice, even if it's the wrong letter. An older child might figure out where the letters go anyway but I work with my 3 year old daughter as she puts it together to reinforce the letters and sounds so we didn't find it disappointing. I would say the reason it didn't get five stars is that the clarity of the voice isn't great, which is another reason I do this with my daughter so she can hear the sounds more clearly in person. The quality is excellent, the puzzle is definitely solid and well made. I love Melissa and Doug's products and will continue to buy them. I definitely recommend this product and I hope this review helps in your decision!
