I am a qualified welder from the American Welding Society. I am also a CWI Certified Welding Inspector. With over 12 years of experience. So I know what I'm talking about. My first impression was pretty good. Once I was able to heat the base metal enough it wasn't easy. Even with MAPP gas I was able to get the product flowing well and leaving a good roll. I've done 1" fillet welds on square tubing. But all it took was a quick tap with my 4-ounce hammer and the weld broke, a weld that was 360* or round if you like. The Putty doesn't really seem to tire of penetrating the base metal, it acts more like a surface adhesive if you will.I was going to use it to make solar panel racks for my van and bed, but no more.
