I read a lot of reviews before buying and thought I'd add mine given the size. I bought a size 8 for my petite, lean 7 year old (43lbs) expecting them to be tall but needed some room to grow. Sure they were very big for her BUT they looked just about right for an 8 year old. The neckline is wide at the waist and hips so I can see they will always be loose on a slim girl. They have no waist adjustment but belt loops. I used a sewing machine, sewed the waist and side seams and made two darts at the butt. They bunch up a bit at the ankles and lengthen a bit, but I needed the extra height. The rubber underfoot still worked well. The quality is good and they stretch well. She rode in it today and she was comfortable and very happy. I would buy them again. Thanks to the customer reviews I knew what to expect, so I wasn't disappointed.
