I spent a whole day with these horrible plugs and even had to drive to Laws on New Year's Eve to get new plugs that actually work. I've tested 10 of these with an amazing 100% failure rate. Compare this to the 100% success of connecting 10 others together from 2 different vendors (4 cheap ones that came packaged in another product plus the ones I bought from Lowes. However, none of them were pass-through) . Here's how I tested them: 1 . I connected the cable to these connectors at both ends and then ran it through a cable tester. Fail. I think 3-4 out of 8 leads didn't register.2. I cut this cable in half and connected one of the halves to a different brand. Fail. This is expected when at least one end is faulty.3. Then I cut off the first connector (this product) and connected it to another brand. Success! So both worked and the plug of this product failed.4. Then I repeated with the other half. Same results. Both of the other vendor's ports worked, but this product did not work.5. I ran similar tests with 10 of these connectors and 10 connectors from other manufacturers. And like I said, this product has failed every time. However, all other vendors' connectors worked fine, so this should at least show that I know how to connect them and it's unlikely to be a matter of human error. So if you value your time and sanity, avoid them like the plague. If you're like me, you have better things to do than waste your time with a cheap, non-working product.
