I actually use this product to breed butterflies. Sometimes when the predators are everywhere I take the butterfly eggs and larvae to the plants in the net covered by the butterfly house. Once the adults emerge, I hold mesh lining lids over the open top of the "house". Butterflies tend to fly upwards so they land on the underside of a feeder lid which can then be brought out into the garden and turned over to safely and gently release the butterfly. The Dark Side: I also use feeder lids to catch red wasps which kill the larvae by quickly closing the lid and trapping the larvae inside. Labour-intensive, but without chemicals and does not catch bees like standard wasp traps. I love this product. Mesh feeder lids save pollinator lives!
