Review on Uniden R7 Advanced Laser/Radar Detector with Built-in GPS, Real-Time Alerts, Dual-Antennas, Directional Arrows, Voice & Visual Alerts, Red Light and Speed Camera Notifications by Jonathan Fernandez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great radar, weak chassis, too weak to deserve 5 or 4 stars

So I'd like to give the R7 5 stars. It's damn accurate. I've just started skimming through all the features. It easily outperforms my old Valentine One. But the V1 has a HUGE advantage. It's built like a tank. The R7 has the thinnest chassis I've ever seen in a radar detector. I had it in a neoprene sleeve and the faceplate was still broken like it had been thrown out of a 7 story building when I accidentally dropped it in the driveway. more reliable. I just leave it in a hard case. Another blow is a strange suspension mechanism. Once again I'm spoiled for V1. The V1 is easier to assemble and remove than the R7. There is no way I would leave an expensive radar detector in my car in any area and it takes more effort on the R7 than on the V1. Another excellent performance from Uniden. But for the price, a more durable electronics case can be built. God help me if it breaks on my dash when I try to install it, that damn thing is so damn fragile.
