I think this item is high quality and well made. It is a 7/16" rod welded to a 1/8" plate for wall mounting. It can be installed on wood, drywall, drywall, metal or just about anything you want to hang your floating shelf on. I would give this product 5 stars but I found that the dowels used to attach the corkscrew were the correct weight for assembly but the screws were not the correct diameter to properly attach the wall plate. I had to ditch the screws and get a larger diameter 2" screw that would straighten the dowel and cut into the inner plastic well enough to pull out rather than pull out. I actually used 2" wood screws for this. Once this change was made to the package I would give it a 5 star rating. Great packaging too.
