I bought a big one that was too small. I'm 5'8" with medium calves and big thighs, not overly muscular or fat, just in between. Came back and got the XL and it's still a bit small but I'm keeping it anyway. It rubs a little on the top Part of the shin below the knee It is not articulated the pad is firm I guess I was expecting more size and adjustability to cover any sizing issues but no the construction is good the padding is good seems a good lighter To be protection for the knee Be sure to look at the size charts and round them up a bit.
