Like many other old VW car parts, they appear to be made in China. In itself this is not a problem, but the quality of this part in particular is not very good. Unfortunately, there are several other options and none of them seem better. I bought this to replace another Uro coolant level sensor that failed due to a small amount of coolant leaking through the connector terminals. The leak was minor but causes coolant odor and eventually clogs the plug. A day after installation, this sensor shows the same error, a small leak past the connectors. If you need it, you need it, but be aware the quality is poor.
