Review on ๐Ÿ’ป USB-Powered Notebook Cooler by Antec by Jeff Drollinger

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Antec USB Powered Laptop Cooler received a 5-star award from Wavey Davey!

Buying a USB powered laptop cooler from Antec is an easy choice from the many different options available here and elsewhere. I think most of the other reviewers here have covered the main points well and I see no reason to go back and restate everything that has been said before so I'll keep this review short and sweet with a few caveats for use the personal. Now let's face it because we're all here to get the best deal for our hard-earned money, right? Check out this great laptop cooler from Antec. If you can pay around $25 to ship a cooler that naturally does its job silently and *safely* in terms of isolating laptop heat from our legs, knees and hips, that's a steal, right? I think so, and add to that the personally noted credits++ for Antec's USB-powered notebook cooler, and again we have the Wavey Davey 5-Star Performance Award in the heat of competition with all those expensive and risky coolers from other manufacturers. First, it's a KUHL design, isn't it? I like the "Star Design" with a strong yet lightweight ABS plastic (mine is black and silver) holding the aluminum alloy top conductive surface, the part that actually touches the laptop. And you want, that this part is metal if possible because its convective capacity is better than coated plastic or cardboard no matter what those other laptop coolers use: Antec's design is superior to other coolers sold here and elsewhere. In addition, the fans are double ball bearing and with a nominal noise level of 27 dB (decibels), which is the minimum, and XLNT is absolutely silent. in the best case. These fans push a lot of air through and around the bottom vents of a regular laptop and out the sides where most laptops have exhaust vents. The fans have high and low switches which is nice but thanks to the fact that last year I used two completely different laptops, one from the newer Sony FW series and the other from the Acer 5920 series , I just left the switch on. "Low" and it works almost silently. Next to the fan switch on the right is a very very bright blue LED for the 'I'm running and ON' license plate and most people probably think the LED is too bright, and it is! The only real downside to this great design concept is that LED, and it's so bright it pierces the dark and quiet night of the room and illuminates it a bit! So I took a piece of black tape and stuck it over both LEDs on our radiators and it fixed that little issue. Fans accumulate a lot of dust and debris if you run the cooler 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. like ours so if you just take it to the street/garage and blow air out of your air compressor (if you have such a unit which I have) it will all blow it away for further efficient and effective cooling. I clean both of our coolers every month since they run 24/7, literally all the time, because both laptops go through Stanford University's Folding@Home process when not in normal use, so the coolers get a good workout with us behind. The Antec laptop cooler is also covered by an extensive warranty, from what I recall it's covered by a three year factory warranty. Even if you manage to burn it and use it during that time, if it fails under warranty, Antec will replace it. This is another positive aspect compared to other coolers here at Revain. and in other places. In conclusion, since I promised to give this short and sweet review, I am very satisfied with the purchase of two such high quality laptop coolers, with excellent design and functionality. for about $50, with one being sold here for less than $25 and another for just over $25. I just don't think there is anything on the market that works this well, costs this much and has a great 3 year manufacturer's warranty in case something goes wrong after 3 long hard years of refrigerated service. and I 100% fully endorse the Antec USB powered laptop cooler. I give it a 5 star seal of quality from Wavey Davey! You just can't go wrong with one of these for $25 or so, so forget the rest, it's the best! Wavey Davey 08/14/2009 s 5 star seal of approval!
