I REALLY wanted to love this radio and "on paper" it seemed perfect for disaster preparedness, but there is one issue that just needs work and that is radio reception. There is almost no selectivity on the VHF band, there is hiss on every frequency which makes the "scan" function useless and when tested alongside a few other radios I have it only picks up about 50 % of stations that other radios have. AM and SW weren't much better. I would wish that the manufacturer would install a better radio link, then that would have serious potential.
