I ditched all rattan furniture except for the large sofa, but its upholstery no longer matched the overall style and new look of the room. The previous inelastic cover didn't do its job well, was loose with lots of small creases, especially in the corners and around the armrests. Rattan sofas are decorated differently on the sides. This cover is perfect, tight and looks very nice. I placed a strip of old memory foam mattress pad on top of the pillows and under the bedspread. Now I'm sitting on a cloud and no gaps between the cushions :-) For cat owners - cats can easily snag, jump and dismount on it, not even on purpose :-), plus I suspect it will be a good pet hair catcher. I would recommend a decorative throw or a special pet cover, but I personally didn't like the latter, it gave a cheap "utilitarian" look between fairly expensive furniture and decorations. I also added armrest covers and now both two-legged and four-legged family members feel comfortable and very happy. Enough surface area of the lid is left to be seen from the front and sides to give it a neat look and blend in with everything else in the room.
