Review on πŸ’ͺ Powerful Performance: AMD Ryzen 3 1200 Desktop Processor with Wraith Stealth Cooler by Darren Munajj

Don't buy if you don't want to use a discrete graphics card!

I am building a budget PC for my father (not a gamer at all). First, let me say that I'm an Intel guy (first time Ryzen/AMD product buyers here). So I'm used to the integrated Intel HD graphics in everything, as well as being able to surf the web and watch YouTube/Netflix without a graphics card (GPU). Anyway, I found the best deal on the Ryzen 3 1200. I bought it without realizing it. that this CPU requires a separate GPU. Since Ryzen 3 1200 doesn't even show the bios without an installed GPU. Either I have to spend over $50 on an old ebay hard drive. At the same time I'm upgrading a new 450W PSU I just bought to support an old power hungry GPU. Or return 1200 to 2200G for a $21 difference. I will return this POS 1200 tomorrow. I highly recommend buying the Ryzen 3 2200G if you don't plan on using a separate GPU. To be honest, I really don't understand the Ryzen 3 1200's raison d'Γͺtre. If you want to game and want to have or buy a good GPU, you need something better than this budget CPU. And anyone who wants to build a budget PC like me will buy a 2200G instead of buying a Ryzen 3 1200 and GPU.

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • So far so good
