Not a smooth cooking surface, but otherwise great.
I sometimes run it from the inverter in my solar powered caravan when I'm in sunny areas. It's worked well so far, I mainly use it to quickly reheat soups in a stainless steel pasta bowl and it's a great combo. I also have a stainless steel moka pot that is perfect for this. It heats up very quickly and is easy to control. Based on the description I was expecting the hob to be smooth but it is ribbed and doesn't look like glass ceramic. I was tempted to return it but I won't as it serves it's purpose well enough.
