I bought these prior to traveling where I would be walking a lot. They were comfy immediately, no break in. I do not usually like athletic shoes but these were comfy and cute. I love that they work well with socks or without - a lot of these style shoes look silly with socks, but these are versatile. They stayed clean looking too. The foot bed is cushioned but the structure of the top of the shoe is lightweight, snug enough to stay on but loose and comfy, which I prefer because athletic shoes can make me feel trapped. They are easy to slip on and off, laces stay tied. My foot is a bit on the wide side, but wide widths are often too big. If you are kind of Goldilocks about shoes, I highly recommend these.
