Plugged this into my pre-existing underground fence line and plugged it in and we were ready to go. I have 1 dog that is exceptionally stubborn and I really thought it was a lost cause. Surprisingly, he spends most of his time in the garden. Now, on rare occasions, he decides it's worth getting over the shock and going into the neighborhood and playing with his canine friends, but it's much better than before. Before we got these collars, if he walked out the door he would be gone for hours and couldn't be brought back until he decided to go home. The only downside to this collar is that it resets to level 1 if the power goes out, which doesn't even get my dogs in phase. So we definitely need to check this when the power goes out. Other than that I haven't had any problems and we only charge for the collars once every two weeks or so.
