The filter fabric on the front of the pleated filter makes cleaning much easier. I just have to shake it a few times and the layer of dust comes off easily. No tools are required unlike the standard tool that came with my D4. The new latch is also easier to use. The filter also lasts much longer because large accumulations of dust do not get stuck in the crease. It costs more per unit but lasts longer than generics, not to mention that most generics aren't HEPA filters. They really should have included it as the standard filter for new robot vacuums.
