The PCV valve you bought is a device that relieves the pressure in your car's engine. This is supposed to be a one way valve, unfortunately the one I bought vented pressure at both ends. After installing the valve, the car had uneven idling and a strong smell of gasoline. This was apparently due to poor quality control, which luckily was corrected with the new device before it resulted in catastrophic engine failure.
