Review on Vibrant Assorted & Metallic Colors! Get Creative with Sharpie Oil-Based Paint Markers, Medium Point - Perfect for Rock Painting, 5 Count by Sasha Hsiao

Revainrating 4 out of 5

nearly perfect; Color gradient under paint

These felt-tip pens are easy to use, easy to handle, have good flow and dense, opaque colours. The paint is also very durable, it is almost impossible to remove or scratch it after application. However, the color spreads when varnish is applied over it. I tested each color four ways: once on an unpainted stone (the silver "test" on the side of the white flower); one on a stone, after drying a finish is applied over the handle (silver, red and gold "test" in the middle); one over a layer of acrylic paint, both varnished after drying (silverpoint on blue acrylic); and one above the trim (red and silver handle on the left and right edges, first photo). I have found that the best results are achieved when using a paint pen on a stone that has already been painted. This protects the other color on the stone and I can still use the marker without the color bleeding. My only concern is the paint chipping/scratching or exposure to UV rays - time will tell. *The varnish I use is a UV stable Krylon clear gloss acrylic varnish in a can.

Pros
  • Trial period for one year
Cons
