Review on AssureSafe: Drinking Water Test Kit for Pesticide Contamination by Tom Roberts

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Highly accurate test per instructions

This test kit gives extremely accurate results based on comparing this test to an actual water company that came out and tested our water. The only caveat you need to be aware of is the bacteria test. This test is very prone to false positives if not done properly, and the instructions that come with it don't cover that very well. For an accurate test, use a faucet with separate handles for hot and cold water so you only get cold water. Any hot water will ruin the test. In addition, the filter nozzle at the end of the faucet must be removed, as bacteria from the hot water source accumulate in it over time. When the water company was formed they actually used an outdoor faucet as it is the easiest to isolate from all hot water sources. If you follow these instructions, you will get an accurate test as long as you don't exceed the 48-hour wait time. On the other tests I measured 3ppm chlorine and it matched the water company's digital test kit exactly, so I'm pretty sure the other tests are very accurate if done correctly. In general a very good product. 4 stars instead of 5 were for incomplete bacteria test instructions, which the company says it is working to improve.
