They work very well. This is the third one I've bought; The other two were stolen by the owner of the dog on the other side of the fence. I placed this a little farther from the fence on one of my sheds and pointed towards the dog owner's backyard. However, I have found that the battery dies and when the dog starts barking; When I call out the bathroom window to stop him, he listens and stops barking.
