Yes, this lip balm does sting a little. However, this only takes a few seconds. I always use lip balm because I hate dry lips. I use a sugar lip scrub in the morning and before bed to remove dead skin cells. When I bought this lip balm I had another lip balm left over. As soon as I applied Blistex I felt the difference. It feels like the balm softens dry skin. While the other balm only covered dry skin. The blister burrows into the skin. I threw away the rest of the lip balm and continue to use Blistex.
