I love that I don't have to change batteries with this device!

The main reason I decided to buy this smoke alarm is because I only have one at home and it runs off a 9 volt battery. When I saw that this photoelectric smoke detector is powered by a ten year old lithium battery, I thought it would be great. You no longer have to change batteries, which is a big plus. With this smoke alarm, once the battery dies, the device is dead and you have to buy a new one, which is fine with me. Note that with this fire alarm, the disarming of the alarm is permanent and irreversible once you disarm it (which must be done at the end of its ten-year lifespan). Smoke is not detected after power off. This smoke alarm is very easy to install and very loud which is what I expected. Before installing it, my husband and I tested it to make sure it worked and responded properly. So far we haven't had a single false alarm with this smoke detector.
