Does the job so far!

I've been looking for a while when I needed to find a solution to connect HDMI to a component for my trinitron kv32hs510. Most component converters are quite expensive, but this one came in handy and got some good reviews, so I decided to give it a try. Basically I did this because the original setup, which used the DVI connector, didn't really give me the exact resolution, especially on a PlayStation 4 where part of the display would be off screen. In addition, the 1080i resolution that the TV actually supports has not been disclosed. I was pleasantly surprised to find both an HDMI cable and a component cable included with the device. Scaler has definitely improved the situation. First, the PlayStation 4 will support both 1080i and 1080p options, but more importantly, the console will be downscaled from higher resolutions to resolutions that support my screen. While there's still a bit of off-screen stuff visible on-screen, it's much, much better. than the original setting. In terms of picture quality, it's really hard to compare it to the original setting, and since there's no real way to test input lag, there's little I can say other than the fact that it works as intended. After that has been said. , it comes with a warning. The hdmi version is 1.3 and the hdcp version is 1.2, which I didn't take into account when purchasing. This worries me a bit as newer devices support much higher versions, especially when it comes to hdcp. So before buying I want to make sure and check if the device you intend to use with this scaler is compatible. In the future I would certainly like to do more tests with PC and input lag, but for now I am satisfied with this scaling converter.
