This splitter gives you 2 outputs working at the same time unlike some splitters. It was also easy to connect and I couldn't tell any difference in sound quality. I needed this splitter to convert the single optical audio output on the back of my Samsung TV into two outputs, one for the soundbar and the other for headphones. I also bought a PROZOR 192kHz DAC (DAC Digital SPDIF, L/R RCA Optical Converter, Toslink Optical to 3.5mm Jack Adapter for PS3 HD DVD, PS4 Amp, Apple TV Home Cinema) also available here at Revain. com because my headphone jack required a 3.5mm jack. Both elements work well together, the soundbar and headphones also work great (individually and/or together). Note that there is a very small "hat" at the ends of the cords that a beginner may not notice and may think does not fit properly in the hole. Remove the tiny hat and they connect as intended. My Samsung TV model didn't have bluetooth so it was the perfect solution to get the headphone working.
