At the moment, Starrett is the only one I've found who can make an accurate, consistent, undistorted (from the thickness marking on the blades) and easy to use feeler gauge. All in one package. The build quality on the edges of the marquee is excellent. I've often found sensors that look like they've just been ground down and released for sale. This can cause some problems when the meter is inserted deep into something. Also, the meter's body appears to be made from the same quality steel as the blades. The blade lock is smooth, snug, doesn't deform the blades, and most importantly, it actually works as it's supposed to. in every respect (September price) in accuracy and quality than what you buy for $4 in Autozone. If you don't use it often and for important purposes don't buy it, if you're anything like a professional engine builder or machinist I'd check it out. The only reason it has 4 stars is the price.
