EDIT: Snapbridge functionality was fixed after the last iOS update, but it didn't work for 2 months between updates. Incredibly frustrating, but I don't think Nikon ever intended to fix this themselves. So get ready - it may stop working with the next iOS update. Rating updated from 2 out of 5 to 5 out of 5. That's right, so the camera itself is 5/5, don't get me wrong. If you're trying to shoot with a DSLR like I did when I bought it a while ago, this is a great camera for beginners. I can't say anything about this camera's ability to capture images that hasn't already been claimed by other reviewers here. However, what I consider to be the key feature and what helped me sell the D3400 over the D3300 was Snapbridge - a Bluetooth connection app/feature that allows you to transfer images from your camera to your smartphone. Yes, it currently does NOT work on iOS. Your camera will connect to your phone, but the actual photo transfer will be interrupted. So, enough to tease you that it might work before you get completely frustrated by saying it couldn't connect. For those who just got a camera, you might think it's your fault, your phone's fault, or that you have a faulty camera that needs to go through the warranty process. No, it's just a broken app and Nikon won't fix it. It's been 2 months since Snapbridge stopped working. And while Nikon was decent enough to report it on the app's downloads page, they still sell cameras even though their app isn't available. And I can't understand why this hasn't been fixed yet. The only explanation I have is that they don't allocate resources to fix the problem, which is unacceptable. They still sell these cameras based on what mostly amounts to false advertising when it comes to Bluetooth functionality. There are many complaints about the app on the App Store, but I think negative reviews don't matter if they affect actual camera sales. So I'm doing my part to lower the rating here just enough for people to get a glimpse of Canon cameras whose Bluetooth capabilities are still a given.
