Used this case to transfer 2.5" SATA II drives from an old laptop. The clear case looks very nice (my discs are different so I can tell them apart without the labels). I chose USB-C to test the future. I have no idea about the maximum speed of the controller as SATA II cannot saturate USB-C. A few things to note: Clear plastic is somewhat soft and flexible (probably PVC or polycarbonate). It scratches easily like phone cases, but looks very nice. The case has room for regular drives, but there doesn't seem to be room for thicker 11mm drives. The drive installs without tools (I had to tilt the drive into the SATA connector). The case snaps into place, so don't expect the cover to hold up in harsh environments or frequent drive swaps. Because the plastic is somewhat flexible, care must be taken not to hold or pinch the center of the case if it contains a hard drive (spinning type). ), since too much pressure on the hard disk cover can damage it. All of this points to the fact that these are good, inexpensive, stylish cases for hard drives.
