I bought them for children 4 years and 14 months. Neither has sensory issues, but these necklaces were still fun to play with. Although the plastic is of good quality, it's not for chewers. This is not silicone and they can chew through the necklace without much difficulty. They are fun to play with and stretch. My 4 year old daughter, over 3ft tall, was able to stretch the necklace from her toes to the crown of her head and it didn't break. They have been slightly stretched but are still portable and playable. However, due to the choking hazard, you still need to be careful around it, especially with young children. Overall they're great, especially for kids who need something to play with.
