I ordered this camera after returning 3 other Foscam FI9900P cameras because they either didn't work or had problems with the remote connection and motion detection. I was pleasantly surprised that the camera was recognized immediately and I didn't have any trouble connecting remotely like I've had with my previous Foscams. After making sure everything was set up and working properly, I stripped the camera and installed it outdoors in the same spot my previous FI9900P was installed. Everything went downhill here. The camera freezes every few seconds. I went up and down the stairs more than 20 times to tune the antenna! As soon as I thought everything was fine, he froze again. When not freezing, it only detected motion on high settings. Push notifications didn't work and the camera only occasionally recorded movement on my computer or SD card. I called Foscam again. The issue escalated, and Tracy responded with questions that had already been asked and reviewed by her own representatives. After several disappointing emails she asked me where I can get a firmware update. The camera came with him, I replied. She then suggested installing an SD card or registering with the cloud, as according to her, "motion detection can only be saved on an SD card, FTP or the cloud". Nice try, but no, I won't subscribe to your cloud! If it doesn't record to a PC or SD card, why would it record to the cloud? Apparently Foscam doesn't know anything about the firmware of their cameras and what their G4 cameras record on the PC. Of course I also sent this camera back to Revain. Until Foscam admits they have issues with their cameras' Wi-Fi, motion detection and sensitivity and fixes them, I won't be investing in their cameras anymore. Too bad the quality of Foscam has dropped. My old Foscam 720 have better motion detection than these new cameras.
