I have several pairs and will never buy cotton socks again. I use them for running, with boots, hiking. I wore it on a river hike (the Narrows in Zion National Park) where you literally trudge in and out of the river all day and it worked exceptionally well, didn't retain excess water and dried very quickly. When I travel I take two pairs of these with me and that's it. Main pair and backup. I washed them in hotel sinks and dried them overnight. No problem. No lumps, no chafing. They can be machine washed and dried. Mine hasn't shrunk even after many washes. No discoloration, so other clothes don't get dirty either.
