Review on πŸ’‘ Superior Illumination with QuestLED Ceiling Light: Ultra Slim & Dimmable Solution by David Encarnacion

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Bright (dimmable) even natural light

The pandemic has forced us to use our finished basement as a classroom. This room already had a 2 x 4 foot false ceiling with 4 functional recessed lights. These lamps have transformed the room. In full brightness mode, it looks like daylight, not a dark (almost) windowless basement. The light is even and weak, clean and even. No flicker. Installation: The lights are easy to install, durable and fit easily in a standard 2' x 4' drop ceiling. I heard you can install it on a drywall ceiling by buying a kit but haven't tried it. Only 3 stars because I had to hire an electrician to do the wiring. Dimming is done by running separate dimmer wires - 2 extra wires from the dimmer switch to each light, and the dimmer switch must be a dedicated switch. Despite this additional cost, it is worth it, since the dimming is smooth and without flickering. I have other dimmable LED bulbs that use standard wiring (line voltage dimmer) which is much easier to install but will flicker or the light level will be affected by some other current draw on the same circuit. This separate wiring eliminates this problem. NOTE: Please note the power limitations of the dimmer you have purchased. These bulbs are 72 watts each, need about 300 if all 4 are on the same switch (I bought 2 switches for 2 bulbs of 150 watts each.
