Review on πŸ“‡ PenPower WorldCard Pro: Advanced Business Card Scanner for Win/Mac by Ron Coleman

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good, but: Office Electronics

Well, I have a lot of business cards and I got tired of putting them in plastic sheets in a folder - and they ended up in a box - not very practical. I looked at a lot of card scanner reviews and settled on this one - and it's fine. Pros: 1) it works most of the time 2) the customer service was great - it wasn't sorted by company (just by name) and it should do both. It just took an email and I received a link to the updated software. That should have worked, but the quick reaction earns points. Cons: 1) The scan resolution is just about ok - we're all used to the best at the moment. 2) You'll spend almost as much time creating a correction as it would take to type everything by hand - and that's coincidence. If you have 5 business cards from different people in the same company, it will read 4 addresses correctly, it will read 4 different email addresses correctly, and one of the cards has one of the #s (office, mobile, or fax) will be completely random - too if all cards are identical except for name/title/email/phone number. It gives you multiple lines for name/department/position/company - and usually imports different information into different "boxes" of the company. If you could copy/delete/paste (or cut/paste) that would be fine, but you can only do it within the same "box". As soon as you switch to another field, you only have to enter it again. Result - 3 stars. Useful, but not nearly as easy as I had hoped.
